In this post, we will explore the profound benefits of visualisation techniques during pregnancy and how they can aid in conception. Drawing inspiration from renowned experts like Zita West, who emphasise the importance of mental wellness during pregnancy.
West's approach integrates mindfulness and relaxation to support both physical and emotional help.
Visualisation is a method for crafting mental images of your desired outcome, engaging all five senses to deeply immerse yourself in your ultimate goal. The key is to truly experience it!
Thought to have its roots thousands of years in the past, the earliest documented mention can be traced back to the ancient Chinese text known as the I Ching. This ancient text utilised visualisation as a means of divination.
Not until the early 20th century did visualisation begin to gain traction and rise in popularity as a powerful self-improvement tool. The self-help book that played a key role in promoting the practice of visualisation in the western world, was Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich," which was first published in 1937. From that point onwards, visualisation techniques have been warmly embraced not just by athletes and entrepreneurs, but also by individuals who are keen on embarking on a journey of personal development and growth.

Visualisation can be a helpful tool in your journey to becoming pregnant. When you visualise yourself becoming pregnant, you are engaging in a positive mental practice that may contribute to a more optimistic and relaxed mindset.
By focusing on the positive aspects of pregnancy and imagining yourself experiencing a healthy pregnancy, you might find it easier to maintain a hopeful and positive attitude throughout your journey.
Throughout your pregnancy, visualisation can be used as a tool to help you stay calm and focused. It can be difficult to maintain a positive outlook when faced with all the challenges that pregnancy can bring, but if you keep visualising yourself and your baby happy and healthy, then this will eventually become your reality.
Visualisation techniques played a significant role in helping me overcome what I initially thought were my limiting beliefs. I managed to tackle issues linked to my age and hormonal imbalances through this effective mental practice. Zita West's advice on visualisation was incredibly helpful during my pregnancy journey.
After listening to an audio session by Zita West, where she emphasised the importance of visualising healthy glands and the transmission of signals to the ovaries, I decided to incorporate this practice into my routine.
I would picture a healthy hypothalamus sending signals to my pituitary gland, balancing hormone levels. I then imagined a healthy embryo implanting in my uterus and beyond. Each visualisation ended with me playing with my child or holding my baby close.
I can't be sure if this helped my conception, but I can tell you how I felt after morning sessions. I felt calmer and more optimistic about my goal. It was like having a lovely secret all to myself. Some days, I was filled with joy, as if I'd just found out I was expecting!
I can't guarantee that visualisation alone will lead to pregnancy, but I truly believe it should be part of your routine, alongside taking your vitamins and maintaining a healthy diet.
From the Paradigm Shift course, Bob Proctor said, "Faith and fear both demand you believe in something you cannot see. You choose!"
For years, I had feared not getting pregnant. But when I changed my internal dialogue and started visualising, repeating my affirmations, and meditating, that fear began to diminish. Visualisation became a form of mental rehearsal for a positive outcome, strengthening my belief in the possibility of success.
What I am trying to say is, just try it. You have nothing to lose and potentially much to gain.
Start by believing that it can help and then practice daily. Envision your body functioning harmoniously, see yourself as already successful in your journey, and let these positive images replace any lingering doubts or fears.
Thank you for reading, and I hope this inspires you to incorporate visualisation into your daily routine.
